Our goal is simple - to lead people into a relationship with God and help them also grow in their daily fellowship with Him. To put it another way, we seek to help people find God and get to know Him. This is our mission, and we continue to seek ways to teach the Bible's truth that never changes and apply it to an ever-changing world in a relevant way.
The key to a fulfilled Christian life is for Christians to learn to "live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." ~2nd Corinthians 5:15

The church was organized in June 1968 as an outgrowth of the Union Gospel Mission, which was founded and pastored by the late Charles Evans in Kennells Mill, PA. Pastor Ken Korns and his wife, Carole, were called to pastor the newly established church, in which there were 21 charter members.
Calvary Bible Church grew rapidly during the next three years and consequently, a building program was planned. This plan included moving, in December 1971, to a newly constructed meeting place on the southern edge of Ellerslie. The story goes on as the Lord continues to bless us. And for this we are thankful to Him and give Him all the glory!
Our desire is to continue equipping saints while also reaching out into the surrounding communities of Cumberland and Hyndman through evangelism, counseling, and service. We'd love for you to be a part of what's going on here at CBC.
